Poet Land Foundation’s micro-grant program aims to bridge the gap between artists’ immediate, short-term financial needs and their ability to create. We fund all types of artists and seek out those who are unconventional and provocative, blending beauty and controversy in art to break traditional rules.

Named in memory of the PNW writer, Raymond Carver, whose dirty realism fundamentally revitalized the American short story in the late 20th century, the Carver Grant is intended for writers, poets, playwrights, essayists, and other artists of words.

Named in honor of the brilliant and enigmatic American artist, musician, actor, dancer, choreographer, and teacher Freddie Herko, famed for his unconventional work and avant-garde productions, this grant focuses on supporting painters, sculptors, and other visual artists.

Named in honor of Marianne Brandt, a pioneering German designer, metalsmith, and photographer who became one of the most influential figures in the Bauhaus art school; this grant supports performance artists: singer-songwriters, theatre and dance groups, dancers, bands, and other artists driven by live interaction.
